Please find all relevant work links to classroom resources and activities for all subjects under their Faculty headings. For Year 9, please note that all resources for elective subjects are listed in subheadings under each faculty area.

Much of the work below is accessed via Google Classrooms. The best way to access Google Classroom is via the ‘Student Portal’.

 

ENGLISH  

Students have been invited to join a Google Classroom by their English teacher. The invitation can be found in their student emails. Clicking on accept will allow them to access the classroom. The students will be completing a unit on short stories with a skill focus on reading, comprehension and analysis. To complement this, students' literacy tasks will be revision  on nouns, noun phrases, nominalisation, active and passive voice, as well as, verb tense. For students who are unable to access the Google Classroom a booklet of this work is available for students. Please call the school to arrange a printed copy if this is required. For Year 9 GEC students there will be extension activities in your Google Classroom.

 

MATHEMATICS

Students have access to Maths Online, www.mathsonline.com.au, all students who study Maths have a logon which is usually your initials followed by 75845.  E.g., JH75845

All students have a password but if you can not remember it, please contact  Jacinta.hohnke1@det.nsw.edu.au  and Mrs Hohnke will get back to you as soon as possible. The front office staff also have a copy of your passwords if you contact them they will be able to help you.

Your teachers will be assigning work on Maths Online for you to complete, you will also have to check Google Classroom for other more specific tasks

 

SCIENCE

Students have been invited to join a Google Classroom for this subject. They will be completing a unit on Heat, Light & Sound. If they do not have access to a computer or the internet can you please contact the front office for a paper copy. Please check the Google Classroom regularly for updates on work to be done.

Animal Studies: Students have been invited to join a Google Classroom for this subject. They will be doing a unit on dog ownership. If they do not have access to a computer or the internet can you please contact the front office for a paper copy.Please check the Google Classroom regularly for updates on work to be done.

Agriculture: Students have been invited to join a Google Classroom for this subject. They will be doing a unit on Aquaculture. If they do not have access to a computer or the internet can you please contact the front office for a paper copy. Please check the Google Classroom regularly for updates on work to be done.

Forensic Science: Students have been invited to join a Google Classroom for this subject. Students will be completing work on observing a crime scene, trace evidence, investigating fibres, impressions, handwriting analysis, Forensic entomology and DNA analysis. If students do not have access to a computer or the internet can you please contact the front office for a paper copy. Please check the Google Classroom regularly for updates on work that is to be completed.

 

HSIE 

History Depth Study - The Industrial Revolution - Students have been invited into the Google Classroom by their teacher. The following codes allow access to each of the classes:

In this unit, students are studying The Industrial Revolution. A work booklet with activities for this unit is available in the Google Classroom. If students are unable to access Google Classroom, please contact the school to arrange a copy. Year 9 GEC students will find extension activities in their Google Classroom.

 

PDHPE

PDHPE - Work has been posted into a Year 9 Google Classroom site. Use the code 2t6qjug to access the page. Students are reminded the easiest way to access Google Classroom for themselves is via the ‘Student Portal’, which enables them to maintain all their details as per the Department login information. In their Google Classroom page, there is a booklet to work through and the term’s assessment is attached if student’s have not already completed and submitted the task.

PASS Yr9/10 (100hr Course) - Students will be invited to join the 9/10 PASS Google Classroom. The class code is - fv2l6sw (please remember it is 2 L 6, not 216). 

Lessons will be scheduled to go live simultaneously with timetable lessons. Classroom teacher will be available on site in classroom, as well as online during these existing scheduled class times. Current assessment task can be submitted via the Google Classroom if student wishes to remain off site for the remainder of Term 1. Outdoor Recreation - Students are to continue working through their online E-Lifesaving modules, from the Royal Lifesaving Society Website: https://www.royallifesaving.com.au/schools/in-the-classroom/e-learning (Main site)

Both modules 1 and 2 must be completed before the end of term. If you need to get another token code to enter the courses please contact Mr Mooney.

Child Studies - Students will be invited via email to join the live Google Classroom.

Physical Activity - Students are encouraged to keep up their daily physical activity levels. There are some suggestions attached in the booklets, but in general, it is ideal that students achieve a minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity per day, for 5 days a week. Please note that we must follow the Government's direction in relation to social distancing, e.g. no walking in groups of friends! There are a range of activities that students will be able to find online also.

 

TAS

Food Technology 100 hours - Students have been invited to join a Google Classroom for this subject. The classroom code is <ftfzoqg>. Students are reminded the easiest way to access Google Classroom for themselves is via the ‘Student Portal’. Students are required to complete the class work and email their answers to the classroom teacher. Students are also encouraged to complete cooking practicals at home and can email pictures of their food to the teacher. If students wish to have a hard copy of the work sent home they will need to contact the school or email the classroom teacher lea-ann.best@det.nsw.edu.au

Timber Technology 100 hours - Most students have already taken their Timber theory booklets home. Students have been invited to join a Google Classroom for this subject.  For those that do not have their booklets there is a digital copy on Google Classroom hulo2ha.  These booklets contain the information students will need to work through and answer the included questions.   If students wish to have a hard copy of the work sent home they will need to contact the school or email the classroom teacher william.filson@det.nsw.edu.au

Stage 5 Industrial Technology - Metal - Students have been invited to join a Google Classroom for this subject.  For those that do not have the folio, there is a digital copy on Google Classroom uu6onrk.  This folio contains the information students will need to work through and answer the included questions.   If students wish to have a hard copy of the work sent home they will need to contact the school or email the classroom teacher tom.rhodes7@det.nsw.edu.au  

 

CAPA

Photography and Digital Media - Students have been invited to join a Google Classroom for this subject. The classroom code is wrtqehi. Students are reminded the easiest way to access Google Classroom for themselves is via the ‘Student Portal’. Students are required to complete their Shapes and Shadows assessment task that they have been working on in class. The task has been added to the Google Classroom. In addition, information relating to joining 52 Frames Photographers has been provided in lieu of submitting images to the Gunnedah Show Photography competition as previously planned.
