Due to the impact of the most recent COVID 19 state-wide lock down, there have been changes made to the Year 11 Assessment Calendar, in particular Assessment Task 3/ End of Course Examination which was set to take place back in Term 3.
To support our student’s wellbeing and their HSC preparation, staff have calculated estimates for their Year 11 students for Task 3 based on the completion of Tasks 1 and 2 earlier this year. This means that at the end of Term 3 2021, our Year 11 students completed their Formal Assessment Program for their Preliminary Courses, and their reports will reflect this.
To support our students to best prepare for their HSC in 2022, it is imperative that students experience examination conditions, practise for exams, as well as receive valuable feedback for their learning. Therefore, we have planned for these examinations to take place in Week 2 of Term 4. Students will each receive feedback for their performance from their teachers, which will be valuable as they begin their HSC courses in Week 3 of Term 4 2021. Examination Timetables have been provided to students during Week 10 of Term 3 and a copy can be found on their year 11 Google Classroom. At this point, with the most recent Gunnedah LGA lockdown, we will still proceed with the exams in Week 2.
With the Year 11 examinations taking place in Week 2 Term 4, HSC Courses will commence on Monday Week 3 Term 4, and students wishing to remove a subject from their pattern of study can begin the process by getting a Subject Change Form from Mrs Macdonald or Miss Cowan. Students are expected to stay in all courses until the paperwork is finalised on Monday Week 4, Term 4.
Furthermore, due to the COVID situation, the process for the election of our School Captains and Senior Leadership Team, has been delayed. Interested students have been given nomination forms which are to be returned during Week 1, Term 4. Please email the nomination forms to Miss Cowan at brooke.cowan2@det.nsw.edu.au
The elections will take place in Week 3, Term 4 after students have completed their Yr 11 Examinations in Week 2.
