In this unit, students are to use the novel that they have studied in Term 1 to complete a variety of activities that will complement and extend their knowledge. To complement this, students will complete literacy activities on nouns, nominalisation, verbs and tense.  A booklet is available for students who are unable to  access their Google Classroom. Please contact the office to organise a copy. The students in 8 GEC will find extension activities in their Google Classroom.

Work has been posted into a Year 8 Google Classroom site. Use the code tknbhxm to access the page. Students are reminded the easiest way to access Google Classroom for themselves is via the ‘Student Portal’, which enables them to maintain all their details as per their Department login information. On their Google Classroom page, there is a booklet to work through and the term’s assessment is uploaded in the classwork section of the Classroom. Both the workbook and assessment task must be completed before the end of Term 1.

Physical Activity - Students are encouraged to keep up their daily physical activity levels. There are some suggestions attached in the booklets, but in general, it is ideal that students achieve a minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity per day, for 5 days a week. Please note that we must follow the Government's direction in relation to social distancing, e.g. no walking in groups of friends! There are a range of activities that students will be able to find online also.

The formal assessment task will require students to follow the Design and Production Process. All students will have an information booklet and associated worksheets where they will have to answer a series of questions. An electronic version of the assessment tasks will be accessible through Google Classroom with the code ‘poyzgz’ or alternatively contact the school for a hard copy to be sent out.
