We are proud to announce the official rebranding of our Support Unit to Dhiiyaan, a name that reflects our commitment to inclusivity, respect, and cultural connection. This important change is more than a new title, it represents a renewed dedication to providing tailored support that celebrates every student’s unique strengths and identities.

About the name

The name 'Dhiiyaan' is inspired by the local Gamilaraay language, which holds deep significance for our community. By adopting this name, we acknowledge and honour the traditional custodians of this land and foster a stronger sense of belonging for our students and families. It is a powerful symbol of our commitment to embracing diversity and working collaboratively to build a supportive and inclusive environment.

At the heart of Dhiiyaan is its motto: “Connect, Family, and Together.” These three words capture the essence of what we stand for—building strong connections, fostering a sense of family within our school community, and working together to support every student’s growth and success.

Rebrand launch

The Dhiiyaan rebrand launch event was a fantastic celebration, bringing together students, staff, parents, and community members. We congratulate all parents and community participants who attended. Your presence demonstrated your strong support for the work we are doing at Gunnedah High School.
